E-Commerce Policy
Last updated: 21st October 2026
These terms cover paid membership of lylanidevorah.com, including paid issues of The Babesletter. Please read them before you join. By choosing a paid tier and paying, you agree to them.
Free membership doesn't cost anything and isn't covered by the payment, renewal and refund sections below. The sections on using the content, privacy and changes still apply.
1. Who I am
This site is run by Lylani Devorah ("I", "me"), a sole trader working from 66 Paul Street, London, EC2A 4NA. You can reach me at lylani@lylanidevorah.com.
2. What you get
Each paid tier, and what it includes, is described on the membership page. Membership gives you access to members-only posts on this site and members-only issues of The Babesletter for as long as your membership is active.
Membership is for access to writing and other digital content. It doesn't include one-to-one advice, coaching or any services from Aesthetic Bureau.
What I publish will change over time. I'll always aim to give paid members what the membership page describes, but I don't promise a set number of posts in any particular month.
3. Prices and payment
Prices are shown in pounds sterling on the membership page. As these transactions are done as a sole trader and not under Aesthetic Bureau, no VAT will be charged. (Aesthetic Bureau is VAT registered.)
Payments are taken by Stripe. I never see or store your card details.
You pay in advance, either monthly or yearly depending on the option you choose. Your first payment is taken when you join.
4. Renewal
Your membership renews automatically at the end of each monthly or yearly period, and the same card is charged, until you cancel.
If you're on a yearly plan, I'll email you at least 7 days before it renews, to remind you of the date and the price.
5. Your 14-day right to cancel
If you change your mind, you can cancel within 14 days of your first payment and I'll refund that payment in full. This applies even if you've already read members-only posts.
If you're on a yearly plan, you also get 14 days after each yearly renewal to cancel and receive a full refund of that renewal.
To ask for a refund, email questions@lylanidevorah.com from the address you signed up with. I'll refund you within 14 days to the card you paid with.
6. Cancelling at any other time
You can cancel whenever you like: sign in, open Account, and choose Cancel subscription. You can also email me and I'll do it for you.
When you cancel outside the 14 days in section 5, you won't be charged again and you keep paid access until the end of the period you've already paid for. After that you stay on as a free member unless you ask me to delete your account. I don't give partial refunds for the rest of a period you've already started.
7. Price changes
I may change prices from time to time. If the price of your plan changes, I'll email you at least 30 days before the new price applies. It takes effect from your next renewal after that notice, and you can cancel before then if you don't want to continue.
8. If I stop or change a paid tier
If I close a paid tier or stop publishing paid content, I'll tell you by email and refund the unused part of any period you've paid for, unless I move you to an equivalent tier you're happy with.
9. Using the content
Everything I publish here, including writing, photographs and other work, is mine, unless credited otherwise. Your membership lets you read and view it for your own personal use.
Please don't copy, republish, sell or share members-only content, forward paid issues of The Babesletter to people who aren't members, or share your login. Short quotes with a credit and a link back are welcome.
10. Ending your membership
If you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, for example by sharing members-only content or your login, I may end your paid membership. I'll tell you why by email. Unless the breach is serious, I'll give you a chance to put it right first. If I end your membership, I'll refund the unused part of the period you've paid for, unless the breach was deliberate.
11. If something goes wrong
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, digital content must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. If something isn't right, for example you've paid but can't access members-only posts, email questions@lylanidevorah.com with "Access problem" in the subject line and I'll fix it or, if I can't, give you a refund for the affected period.
I'm not responsible for losses that weren't a foreseeable result of me breaking these terms, or for problems caused by your own device, internet connection or email provider. Membership is for personal use, so I'm not liable for any business losses.
Nothing in these terms limits my liability where the law doesn't allow it to be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.
12. Your personal data
How I collect and use your information, including your email address and payment details, is set out in the privacy policy.
13. Changes to these terms
I may update these terms, for example when the law changes or I add a new tier. The date at the top shows when they last changed. If a change affects your paid membership in a significant way, I'll email you at least 30 days before it applies, and you can cancel before then.
14. Questions and complaints
If you have a question or something has gone wrong, email questions@lylanidevorah.com. I'll reply within 5 working days.
15. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can hear any dispute. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
